Rising Star of the Year


Fans of Kathryn Kitchener, aged 15, describe her as having the voice of an angel. She regularly showcases her talents, be it the national finals of ‘Festival4Stars,’ or in the regional finals of ‘UK Idol.’ A highlight of her musical career was winning the talent search in the ‘European Festival of Dance and Performing Arts’ which took place in Disneyland, Paris. Kathryn is a committed student at her secondary school - Woodford County High. Currently, she is preparing for her lead as ‘Maria’ in ‘The Sound of Music.’ Her dream is to perform in the West-End, and there is no doubt that we’ll be singing along to her performances one day!


Akshay Kumar, aged 15, has had the maturity to balance extracurricular activities whilst maintaining a strong commitment to school work. From modelling, to dancing and acting, to sport, Akshay’s achievements demonstrate his all-rounder qualities. Highlights include modelling for JD Sports, acting in the BBC One drama Silent Witness and performing in ‘The Big Dance’ at Trafalgar Square. Popular amongst his peers, Akshay is currently studying hard for 9 GCSE’s, and represents his school, Chadwell Heath, on the football and cricket teams.  A star on the rise, Akshay is definitely a name to look out for in the future.


Wilson Chowdhry began his career aged 19. Commitment, diligence and a dash of entrepreneurial spirit enabled him to grow a security business to a turnover of £3.5m. He is an active member of the Redbridge; chairing a variety of groups, and pioneering the re-introduction of the Redbridge Carnival after 21 years. He was instrumental in getting pay and displays available in Green Lane to help local businesses. Due to his sterling work within the community, he has been selected to feature in the 2009 ‘Investors in People’ calendar.  Wilson Chowdhry remains a name that is synonymous to Redbridge
